Lahore– 6th October, 2017: Rawalpindi Express, world’s fastest and most fearsome bowler Shoaib Akhtar joined Lahore Qalandars as a mentor. Chairman, Lahore Qalandars Fawad Rana announced and introduced Shoaib as the new acquisition of Qalandars at a Press Conference in Gaddafi Stadium alongside a panel which included Director Cricket, Aqib Javed, C.E.O Lahore Qalandars Atif Rana and the new fast bowling prodigy Haris Rauf who was spotted bowling at a speed of 92mph during the talent hunt in Gujranwala.

Haris Rauf has signed a 10 year contract with Lahore Qalandars as he will be a part of the Qalandars squad which will play a tri series in Australia against Sydney Thunder, Sydney Sixers and Hobart Hurricane.

“I’m honored and privileged to be a part of Qalandars. Extremely excited and thrilled. Haris is from Pindi and he is the find of Aqib Javed. Aqib knows a talent when he sees one.” stated Shoaib at the press conference.

“I was honoured when Shoaib told me that he will mentor Haris Rauf and join us at Qalandars. He is a legend of the game, the world’s fastest bowler and a Qalandar himself” exclaimed an excited Fawad Rana.
